There's also a new P&G rebate on S* right now, spend $30 get $10 back, exp. sometime in January. Duracell coppertop and quantum count towards the $30.

I stopped by Fred Meyers today and no catalina printed out. I bought 1 pkg C and 1 pkg D. The only thing I can think is on the receipt it just says "battery", not "Duracell". This happens to me quite often and I think it's because the stores don't input the complete name into their systems. Really is frustrating.
Fred Meyer has a master list of catalina in their computer system. If you dont mind, go to Customer service, tell them what happened, and they can pull up on their computer(most probably) the duracell catalina, and force print it for you. Its possible that the catalina was working at that register. MOst customer service desks have catalinas and they can test it for you.
also it is possible, that the D batteries dont work for the catalina. Just thinking out loud.

I did the CAT deal multiple times last night and got the cat everytime. I bought some of each of the Coppertop varieties listed on the IAQ. Before I do the first tranny, though, my personal policy is to take a stroll along register row and make a note of any checkstands that have nonfuctioning CAT machines. Blinking lights, red lights or anything other than a single green light at the top of machine should be avoided. Of course, low paper or dried up ink is another issue than can foil the plan.
Do you think "Extra 10% off Home in-ad coupon" will work on batteries for additional savings?
One more thing, I think there is $.50/1 MC from PG that can be used for transactions.
