Welcome to my shopping at Rite Aid Guide! You can find the Rite Aid Coupon Acceptance Policy updated live at any time. It will give you the general guidelines for coupon shopping at Rite Aid. This policy is your general basic policy you find at most places.
The first thing you will need to obtain to start couponing at Rite Aid is to have a Rite Aid card. This was called a Wellness+ Card. Last year(2015) this card merged with the National Plenti Points program. The Rite Aid store card is now called the Wellness+Plenti Card.
So as you can see from the picture, the National Plenti Points Program is a National Points system, more info Here(basically you can earn points at one retailer, and use those points anywhere Plenti is accepted). You can sign up for Free for a Plenti card at any Rite Aid store. For Rite Aid shopping, these Plenti Points are basically the “New” Rite Aid promo store money. Walgreens has Register Rewards and Reward Points, But Rite Aid just has one form of Store promo money, Plenti Points. You buy things that give you Plenti Points, and then you can Buy things with Plenti Points.
Unlike Walgreens, you can pay for things WITH points and earn points in the same transaction. And since the Plenti Points expire after 2 years, you don’t run the risk of HAVING to shop each week and lose the points. The only “bad” thing about Plenti Points, is the Plenti points you earn in any given transaction, show up the NEXT day. You have to wait until 6am the next morning to use those “new” Plenti Points. Rite Aid keeps you coming back. That right there is the good and the bad for couponing at Rite Aid. But as bad as the Walgreen’s deals have been over the last year, It is probably worth that trade off. 🙂
Rite Aid Bronze-Silver-Gold Level Discounts
Rite Aid has another unique promotion to sweeten the couponing experience. There are 3 different levels
Every dollar you spend accrues towards this discount. Every Manufacturer Coupon you use accrues towards this discount. Every Plenti Point used accrues towards this discount. The dollar amount rounds down to the nearest even dollar, ie $7.59 = $7 towards the next Bronze-Silver-Gold discount. It does take a bit of time to hit these levels, but once you are there, it truly is a way to get some Great deals on things. If you can work your way up to the Gold Level, very few weeks go by where there is not some awesome deal you can get for FREE with the discount.
Since these discounts come off regular price, Let’s visually see how these work. It is 10% off or 20% off every item at regular price. Let’s say that I come across this item, Advil 80ct for $8.99 regular price;
Buy a Advil 80ct, $8.99 (Regular Price)
-$1.50 Use a $1.50/1 Advil 80ct+ Coupon
Final Price Bronze=$7.49 after coupon ($8 credit towards next Bronze-Silver-Gold discount)
Final Price Silver(10% off=$8.09)=$6.59 after coupon ($8 credit towards next Bronze-Silver-Gold discount)
Final Price Gold(20% off =$7.19)=$5.69 after coupon ($7 credit towards next Bronze-Silver-Gold discount)
You can see how the discounts could really help. Now Let’s Say there was a sale on this Advil 80ct for $6. The discounts come off the regular price.
Buy a Advil 80ct, $6 (Sales Price)
-$1.50 Use a $1.50/1 Advil 80ct+ Coupon
Final Price Bronze=$4.50 after coupon
Final Price Silver(10% off=$8.09)=$4.50 after coupon (since the sales price is better than the 10% price, you get the sales price)
Final Price Gold(20% off =$7.19)=$4.50 after coupon (since the sales price is better than the 20% price, you get the sales price)
(These above would all give $6 ($4.50 of OOP + $1.50 Manufacturer coupon) credit towards next Bronze-Silver-Gold discount)
So the 10% off or 20% discounts only come in to play when you get it mathematically is a better deal than any sales price. You will get the lowest price you can whether that be the sale price or the shelf price with one of the discounts, never both.
Rite Aid issues various in-ad coupons and special Flyer coupons from time to time. Think of them as Rite Aid STORE Coupons. Rite Aid has 3 different Types.
Why do we mention these Rite Aid Type coupons? Because of this awesomeness in the Coupon Policy,
No more than one “48” Rite Aid Valuable coupon, one “49” Rite Aid Manufacturer coupon, and one normal Manufacturer coupon can be used on a single item.
Meaning we could use 3 different types of coupons on ONE item at Rite Aid!!! 🙂 Such as this, (This is a made up scenario, but just to prove the point)
Buy a Advil 80ct, $8.99 (Regular Price)
-$1.50 Use a $1.50/1 Advil 80ct+ Coupon
-$3 Use a $3/1 Advil 80ct+ Rite Aid Manufacturer “49” in-ad coupon
-$2.50 Use a $2.50/1 Advil 80ct+ “48” Rite Aid Coupon
Final Price=$1.99 after coupons
Rite Aid also has the ability to load Manufacturer Coupons directly to your Wellness+Plenti Cards. These can be found at the Rite Aid Load2Card section of their website. You can find many of the same coupons that come in the Sunday papers, online, to load to your Wellness+Plenti Card. If you do load one of these digital Manufacturer Coupons, of course you will not be able to use a normal newspaper or printable Manufacturer Coupon. This is just another option to you.
Savingstar is an online rebate program like ibotta. You scan/take a picture of your receipt, upload it to them, and you will get a rebate back for a particular loaded offer for an item. You can now enter your Wellness+Plenti Card number into your Saving Star account, and it will Automatically give you a rebate back on any loaded offer from Saving star, no need to scan/upload a receipt! Once you get $5 worth of rebates you can “cash-out” that amount. To add your Wellness+Plenti Card to Savingstar, go to the “My Account” screen in Savingstar. Click the “Stores” tab. You will see where you can add your Wellness+Plenti Card number. Then load whatever various rebates to your Savingstar account, and the next time you shop at Rite Aid, if you happen to buy any of those loaded offers, within 24-48 hours, you will automatically receive those rebate amounts. I would say you may as well do this for your Wellness+Plenti Card. There is no downside, and generally we get Great overlapping deals with the current deals on any given week. 🙂
The Plenti “Household” offers are a promotion from Savingstar. It works exactly like Savingstar except instead of Money Back to your PayPal, you get the “Money Back” in Plenti Points. For instance, perhaps there is a Savingstar rebate for $2.00 When You Buy a Dove Dry Spray Deodorant. With the Plenti “Household” offers you would get 200 points When You Buy a Dove Dry Spray Deodorant. Same amount of rebate money back, just one is “cash” and one is Plenti points. The important thing to know is you can only do ONE or the OTHER, not both. Since you link your Plenti Cards to Savingstar, “They” know what you load. If you load the(for instance) $2.00 When You Buy a Dove Dry Spray Deodorant Savingstar rebate, That offer is NOT available in Plenti “Household” offers, and of course vice versa. You can access the Plenti “Household” Offers by clicking the following, Plenti Household Offers. Once you select a rebate, the system will automatically give you your points within 72 hours of purchasing a rebate item.
