Tide 50oz as low as $1.49 each! Plus another J4U Tip @ Safeway [ADVANCED]

Here is a FANTASTIC Deal if you have the J4U savings and enough coupons to make it work.  But first here is a tip about how to get the special J4U offers.

J4U Tip: Getting and Keeping the $X/$X discounts.  
Safeway has been sending out $5 off $20 coupons for the last year or so, and they look like this,

Now there are certain tricks to getting this coupon to show up and on a regular basis.  First off, you need to regularly use your Safeway card along with loading/using a few J4U coupons per week.  You should start seeing the $5/$20, $5/$30 or even $10/$50 coupons show up in your J4U Personalized Savings.  If you use them each time you get them, they will keep coming back.  If you EVER use a $10/$50 paper Safeway coupon from the Oregonian that seem to come out the first week of every month, this coupon will STOP the $5/$20 and $5/$30 from becoming available to you.  So if you use those $10/$50 coupons on a regular basis, perhaps getting another card for use with those coupons might be a good thing. 🙂

• So if you haven’t guessed this Tide deal requires the use of the $5/$20 J4U coupon.
• Tide 50oz are $5.99 through 10/22
• In yesterdays Sunday Paper Safeway 3day ad is a $3/3 Tide Product STORE coupon.
• There is a $2/1 Tide product coupon in the 9/29 P&G
• We can double these coupons

So to trigger the $20 threshold we need to buy 4 of these Tides and any other item worth at least $1.04(if you are using double coupons).

You also NEED to buy an item worth at least $1.04 in addition to the 4 Tides.  Because the $5/$20 J4U coupon will only come off after store coupons.  Using the doubles drops us below that $20 threshold.  I bought a few pieces of fruit worth $1.XX.
